We hiked the South Lake trail on Oct 3, 2025, and camped at Saddlerock Lake with plans to summit Mount Goode. This trail is a familiar favorite, and the scenery did not disappoint – it's always stunning. The climb from Saddlerock Lake to Mount Goode was breathtaking, and we were stoked to be making the push. However, we hit a snag: unexpected snow coverage on the mountain. We made it about 200 feet from the summit before turning back, but we're already planning our return trip to bag this peak!
